I'm a true flower child of the 60's. This copper peace medallion continues the legacy of spreading the importance of peace and love. The peace sign becomes the "window" through which a disc of enameled rainbow colors shows. Peace sign and enameled rainbow are joined by a ring, you may alter the look by flipping the peace sign to the back and have just the rainbow be prominent (7th photo); reverse it to have the peace sign over dark brown enamel (8th & 9th photos).
- Torch-fired vitreous enamel on copper
- Color: Stripes of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple on white background; peace sign is antiqued copper.
- Size: 2" diameter (both pieces), slightly domed.
- 30-inch 2mm waxed black cotton cord included.
- Props (calipers, dime, & my hand) not included.
- Wear as a pendant, or hang as a piece of home or altar décor.
Vitreous enamel is melted glass, it's not paint. Care for enameled jewelry as you would any fine art glass.
FYI The modern peace sign was designed by Gerald Holtom for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958. It became a well-known and popular symbol in the U.S. during the '60s and '70s, and continues to this day to symbolize peace. Peace will never go out of style.
